A new 'marine monitoring buoy' has been installed off the south of the Island.
UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man says the equipment will help scientists understand the impact of climate change and human activity on Manx waters.
Marine Monitoring Officer with DEFA Taylor Bridgens says sea surface temperatures on the Island have increased since monitoring began in 1904, particularly in the last 30 years.
The buoy will collect important data to identify changes in the marine environment.
