The Lighthouse acts as your main hub in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. As your base of operations, this is where you and your companions reside in between adventures. Likewise, the location also holds a few secrets. Here's our guide on how to get the Lighthouse chests in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

The Lighthouse chests in Dragon Age: The Veilguard appear as part of a tally when you open the map. It should show a chest icon with "0/2" fairly early in the campaign. Eventually, you'll get hints that you're able to obtain these rewards.

Note that as of the time of this writing, we're unable to confirm if this occurs solely through regular campaign progression, or if you also need to upgrade the Caretaker's Workshop. In our playthrough, we had often collected mementos to boost Caretaker Power so we can level up the spectral NPCs functions.

There are a few chests scattered all over the Lighthouse, though these are not the larger containers with item rewards shown on the map. Still, you can obtain a few materials early in the campaign.

Moreover, there's one puzzle that you can complete very early in the game and it involves statues. The idea is to move the levers so that three pairs of statues face each other:

Once you complete this Dragon Age: The Veilguard Lighthouse puzzle, you should see three wisps floating toward the main building. This unlocks the Music Room to the right of the main hall. You'll only find a document here, but take note of the curious-looking pedestals next to the wall.

Later in the campaign, the Caretaker will whisper and tell you that there are "helpers" (i.e. wisps) in the area. One is at the balcony overlooking the main hall. The other is at the top of the outer steps at the spot with the two statues that are next to each other (from the previous puzzle).

These wisps will move to the Music Room pedestals, which will then cause the wall to open up and reveal a portal. The portal takes you to a higher balcony overlooking the main hall. If you interact with the device, it repairs the Astrolabe. This lowers the cost of Caretaker's Workshop upgrades.

Eventually, you're informed that there's another puzzle that can be solved. Return to the portal in the Music Room and you should see another wormhole. This leads to a floating island at the edge of the courtyard. The chest here contains the Emberborn Shard greataxe weapon (or a duplicate that increases its rarity). Note that we're playing as a Warrior so this item might be different for other classes.

While here, you should also complete the puzzle by interacting with the beam turret. Fire the beam at the three crystals at the top of the towers to the left, center, and right. Be sure to wait until you see a smoky glow effect each time.

Firing the beam at all three crystals causes wisps to fly back down to the main hall. When you return to the location, you'll notice that the room to the left is now open. Enter it and grab the reward from the chest. In our Warrior playthrough, we obtained the Elven Rockbreaker maul weapon.

In any case, that's all you need to know about the Lighthouse chests in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. While you're in the area, you might as well learn about how to upgrade and enchant items via the Caretaker's Workshop.

The lands of Thedas are under threat from formidable foes, including some menacing elven gods, and it's up to Rook and their allies to save the day. For more tips and tactics, you can visit our Dragon Age: The Veilguard guides hub.
